I’ve heard of the Knight Brothers.
They’re dangerous.
Exactly the sort of men I avoid.
But when one of them lands bleeding on my doorstep

I have to save him.
Levi is strong, sexy, and he gives love a bad name.
But when he finally heals, will he end up breaking my heart?

C.L. Cruz & Liz Fox have teamed up to bring you a new series!

Four brothers—and their rivals—who triumphed against all odds, no matter the cost. Now they’ve made it. One by one, they’ll become obsessed with possessing her curves.

This is a Steamy Short Story Romance. No Cliffhangers. This is the sixth in the Possessing Her Curves series, but it can also be read as a standalone. If you love short romances with steamy sex scenes and a happily ever after, then you’ll love this book.

Chapter One Look Inside

The city of Heathcliff at night can be beautiful. The towering buildings loom like sentinels, lights in every window reflecting off of the river that cuts an inky black swath along the eastern border, separating downtown from its dozens of suburban neighborhoods.
But I’m not from that part of Heathcliff, and as I cross the train tracks into Central, I instinctively lock my doors. This little rust bucket that I drive doesn’t have much in the way of luxuries, but automatic door locks is one of them.
I traverse the familiar streets, noting the crumbling buildings and dark alleys, passing beneath overpasses painted with illegible graffiti. One more semester, I tell myself, just like I do every night as I head home from school. One more semester before I graduate with my associate’s degree in veterinary technology, get a good-paying job doing work that I love, and move the hell out of the slums.
The lights of Guzman’s Market come into view a few blocks later, and I pull into the small parking lot, avoiding the pothole by the entrance. The big, picture windows are plastered with flyers and protected by iron bars. Out front, a couple of guys are scratching off lottery tickets, cigarettes dangling from their lips.
“Hot damn, look at that ass,” one of them calls as I climb out of my car.
“Baby girl! Yo, baby girl!” the other one joins in.
Rolling my eyes, I ignore them and stroll into the store.
“Hi, tío,” I greet my uncle, who’s behind the counter ringing up a customer.
He glances up at me, frowning beneath his thick, salt-and-pepper mustache. “Tan tarde, mija? What are you doing out so late?”
I pick up a bag of pretzels, a ready-made salad, and two cans of tuna, taking them to the counter. “I had class and then stayed late to finish a paper.”
As he bags my items without ringing them up, he shakes his head. “You work too hard. If you would just come back to work here instead, you wouldn’t have to worry about any of that school stuff.”
Guzman’s Market has been in our family for a few generations now. I worked here through high school, and that was enough to tell me that I definitely don’t want to stay here long-term.
“That school stuff is important to me,” I remind him as he passes me the bag. It’s what’s going to get me out of the darkest parts of Heathcliff and into the parts with a little more light.
“Did you hear about the explosion?” he asks, a concerned expression on his face.
I nod. “It’s all over the news.” Explosions like this are the exact kind of thing I’m looking to get away from. Campus is far enough away from the shipping district that we didn’t feel it when a warehouse went up earlier tonight, but this neighborhood—and not to mention my apartment—is right next to it. Hopefully, the cops haven’t blocked off the roads that will get me home. All I want is to collapse into bed; I have a break for the next couple of days, and I plan on taking full advantage of it, napping, catching up on my shows, and hanging out with my sweet old cat, Frankie.
When I try to hand him a twenty, he waves it away. “Your money's no good here,” he says. “Keep it for ‘that school stuff.’”
Laughing, I tell him goodnight and head back outside. The guys are gone, so I cut through the parking lot, popping the lid on one of the tuna cans as I head toward the chain link fence surrounding the house beside the market.
