Roxy
He’s my best friend.
The man I trust to have my back in any situation.
But lately tensions between us have been a little… heated.
Everything with Kane is perfect.
He’s strong, sexy, and makes me want to sip his whiskey.
But he’s got a secret,
And keeping secrets is a tricky business… especially in love.
The men of the Raging Angels MC are possessive, protective, and know what they like—curvy women. One by one, they’ll learn what it’s like to fall into obsession—and love—with their women.
This is a Steamy Short Story Romance. No Cliffhangers. This is the seventh in the Raging Angels MC series, but it can also be read as a standalone. If you love short romances with steamy sex scenes and a happily ever after, then you’ll love this book.
Chapter One Look Inside
Chapter One Look Inside
I poke my head out into the clubhouse’s common area to find it full of people—members of the Raging Angels, a few visitors from one of our ally charters, and even a couple of sweet butts getting an early start to their night. I grimace, considering making a break for the back door, but Lux spots me.
“Look who the cat dragged in,” she says.
All eyes turn toward me, so I saunter into the living room like I don’t have a care in the world and certainly don’t have anywhere to be. Reaching through the group at the table, I grab half of a sandwich off of the platter and take a bite without even checking to see what it is.
“Just in time,” Talon, our club VP, says, clapping a hand on my shoulder. “We were just going to head over to Crazy Queens and give our visitors a taste of some local flavor. You coming?”
I shake my head, pulling my phone out of my pocket just as it dings with a text.
Roxy: On your way?
I type out a quick reply. Be there in ten.
Our old neighborhood is probably more like twenty minutes away, but I’m fast on my bike, and I can’t let her know that I’m coming from outside of town anyway. As far as Roxy is concerned, I still rent a room from the guys in my construction crew in that place they share behind the convenience store in Central.
“Of course, he’s not coming,” someone else chimes in.
Talon reaches out and ruffles my hair, and I swat at him. “All work and no play makes Kane a dull boy.”
“Maybe he is playing,” Lux, our club mom, adds, coming out from the kitchen with a pitcher of lemonade. “Just not with you bozos.”
This creates a lot of commotion as the guys hoot and holler at me about secret lovers and girl trouble, which is ironic coming from Talon considering the way he looks at Diana. That’s a train wreck waiting to happen since she’s Reaper’s sister and supposed to be firmly off-limits.
“Don’t listen to these guys,” Lux says, handing me a bottle of water. “You do what you have to do.”
I scowl at no one in particular. “All I wanted was a damn sandwich.”
Laughter follows me out the front door. I love those guys, but holy shit, after coming from a small, quiet family, it can be a bit much sometimes. I wouldn’t trade them for anything, though.
I hop on my bike and roar out of the compound, following the familiar roads that take me back into the Village, my old stomping grounds. The three-story brick apartment building where I lived for the first half of my life still somehow looks exactly the same as it did fifteen years ago when my mom moved us away after the divorce.
But the girl standing out front waiting for me definitely isn’t the same awkward teenage girl as she was when the two of us were neighbors.
Roxy is stunning—beautiful and curvy and confident, with wide brown eyes, a button nose, and a toothy smile that never fails to cheer me up. Her hair is always a different color, although lately it’s been this bright, blood-red, and she has tattoos covering both of her arms. She’s been working on finishing the sleeves, but she’s been busy lately with opening her pub, so she hasn’t had a chance to get any fresh ink.
The two of us have been friends for as long as I can remember, from way back when our moms pushed us side-by-side on the swingset in the park a block away. When my parents divorced, my mom moved us across town to stay with my grandmother, but Roxy and I always stayed in touch.
Over the last few years, things have gotten harder… literally. Like, every time I see her, my pants get uncomfortably tight. Because not only is she my best friend, she’s the perfect woman. If it weren’t for the giant secret I’m keeping from her, I’d have already claimed her the way I’ve been wanting to for years.
