The members of the MC are my family,
They’re like brothers.
So you know who should be off-limits?
My brother’s little sister.
But when we’re trapped together for the weekend,
Things really heat up.
Diana is curvy, delectable, and I want to take her for a looooong ride.
Can I persuade her that she’s the one for me?
The men of the Raging Angels MC are possessive, protective, and know what they like—curvy women. One by one, they’ll learn what it’s like to fall into obsession—and love—with their women.
This is a Steamy Short Story Romance. No Cliffhangers. This is the eighth in the Raging Angels MC series, but it can also be read as a standalone. If you love short romances with steamy sex scenes and a happily ever after, then you’ll love this book.
Chapter One Look Inside
Chapter One Look Inside
I shift on the stone bench, tucking my feet under me and shifting my Kindle to my other hand.
“Just one more chapter,” I murmur.
At least, that’s what I tell myself. Odds are, it will be at least three more before I can drag myself away.
When my big brother, Reaper, took over caring for me six years ago, he did a great job, the best a guy put in a tough position like that possibly could. He found us a new family with the MC, and he stepped up to make sure I would always belong somewhere.
And I always have. I’m loud, sassy, and outgoing with the rest of them, but I like some alone time now and then, to grieve my parents or lose myself in a good story, and this is my favorite private reading spot.
A noise sounds to my left like someone walking, but whoever it is passes by on the nearby trail unseen, and I relax again. Every place has its secrets, and this wilderness area on the river is one of Heathcliff’s. It’s incongruous—an oasis in the midst of the big, dangerous city. Wide open space in a place where every square foot seems to be taken up by people or things. I like to come here just to breathe sometimes. To relax.
Which is something that I need right now, especially after the last few crazy weeks. I knew the relationship with Corporate Carl wouldn’t last, but there’s something to be said about hanging onto a man with a high-rise apartment and terrace garden. After we broke up and he kicked me out, I stayed at the MC compound for a bit. Luckily, I was able to find my new place, just a few-minute walk from my spot here on the river, and get moved in just in time to start my new job.
My gift to myself is this time here reading by the river in solitude, especially when I realize I’m getting to the good part—they’ve just arrived at the inn for the night and there’s only one bed. Things are about to get steamy.
A few minutes later, though, the sound of the alarm on my phone brings reality crashing back down around me.
“What the hell?” I pull it out from my pocket, struggling to silence it as I check the screen. “Oh, damn it.”
The screen reads: Washer & Dryer Delivery! Don’t forget!
Needless to say, I forgot. I also forgot that I was supposed to pick up Reaper so he could help me get everything installed.
Gathering my tablet and my blanket, I turn toward the trail that will deliver me to the alley behind my new apartment and the row of shops where I left my car. I follow the path and arrive about ten minutes later. Instead of going inside, I toss everything into my car and get in, starting it up and pulling it onto the road that will take me to the Raging Angels’ compound.
It’s not far, just across the bridge and a short way down the two-lane highway out of town. When I pull in through the gate, I veer right toward the clubhouse instead of left toward Hughes Auto Shop or straight down the path that will take me to the trailer where Reaper stays. There’s a row of motorcycles parked in front of the clubhouse, but I don’t see Reaper’s chrome-and-black bike.
I poke my head inside and see Lux doing some kind of paperwork at the bar. She’s the old lady of the club’s founder, but when he passed, she never left. Now, she takes care of this place, the members, and their old ladies like their very own surrogate mom.
“You seen Reaper?” I ask, making my way through the empty common area to the bar on the back wall.
She glances up at me and puts down her pen. “Hey, Diana. Reaper went out on a ride with Cora. Need something?”
Ah, so Reaper forgot, too. I don’t mind, though. He’s spent too long taking care of me; it’s about time he found someone to make him happy.
“He was supposed to help me install my new washer and dryer this afternoon,” I answer with a shrug. “I’ll just have to do it myself.”
